On May 16, 2012 an individual was robbed at gunpoint and assaulted by four black males in Russell County. After the assault the four offenders took the victim's vehicle.The Russell County Sheriff Department notified the surrounding agencies. The vehicle matching the description of the one stolen was spotted in Eufaula. The Barbour County Sheriff Department and Eufaula Police Department tried to make contact with the vehicle at that point the driver accelerated to a highspeed through Eufaula heading north. Barbour County and the C shift from Eufaula continued the chase after the offenders left the city limits of Eufaula. The offenders wercked on Corcoran Road. All four offenders then lead the officers on a foot chase. The department of Corrections Tracking Team was notified and tracked the offenders for a few hours until the K9 lead the Russell County Sheriff Department and Barbour County Sheriff Department the the front door of the house the offenders were hiding in. Three of the four offenders were arrested at the house and another arrest was made today on the fourth offender. The names are not being released at this time because some were juviniles, and the adult may be linked to other crimes. We would like to thank The Department of Corrections Tracking Team, Eufaula Police Department, and Russell County Sheriff Department for assisting Barbour County in this search . The offenders were taken in custody and transported back to Russell County. As more information is released we will post on our site.
